By Teresa Contino '19, Staff Writer The marvelous Louisville production of Under Milk Wood gave audiences a treat. Based on Welsh poet Dylan Thomas'1954 radio drama, the delightful Under Milk Wood follows the day of peculiar people and ghosts in a small Welsh fishing village known as "Llareggub".
The cast and crew under the incredible direction of Dan Mailley gracefully brought Thomas' extraordinary use of language to life.
Multiple narrators such as Captain Cat and Mrs. Ogmore-Pritchard call the audience to watch and listen to the innermost thoughts, dreams, and memories of these various colorful characters. In Louisville's production, the same actresses play multiple roles, further appealing to the universality of their experiences. Thanks to everyone involved in this Fall Drama production!
