Model UN Snags Another Win!

By Ronnie Nickols '19, Staff Writer
On the 24th and 25th of March, two members of Louisville’s Model United Nations team competed at the University of Southern California representing Panama and Uganda in their first university conference. Marie Ardy '20 and Ronnie Nickols '19 achieved very high scores under the committee of First DISEC, with the topics of violent non-state actors and worldwide disarmament.
Marie Ardy (Uganda) won a Research Award for her position paper on the subject, and Ronnie Nickols (Panama) placed third overall out of 94 delegates. This model UN season is going exceedingly well as every single conference they have participated in this semester at least one award has been given, or one person has placed. The Model UN team competes in its last conference on April 21st at Gahr High School in Cerritos, with focus on the situation in Yemen and the situation in Myanmar.
