"All the world’s a stage and all the men and women merely players.” The fall drama marks the beginning of the holiday season on campus. The outdoor performance of As You Like It, reimagined by Louisville Performing Arts’ director, Dan Mailley, was a modern twist on this well-known play.
Shakespeare gives us a tale of relationships winding and wandering with each character ultimately in search of love. The many paths that relationships cross in the forest of Arden, leading some to marriage, some to the love of solitude, and some to a deeper relationship with nature. Audiences were encouraged to literally follow the performance through the twists and turns of the story as it progressed on Senior Lawn.
As always, student performances did not disappoint. After two years of virtual performances, it was wonderful to be together as a community, appreciating the talents of all involved.
