Louisville Community Celebrates the Career of Principal Vercillo

The Louisville community came together on Saturday, May 22 to celebrate the exceptional career and service of Mrs. Kathy Vercillo as she prepares to retire at the end of the school year.

Mrs. Vercillo was joined by her husband, children, and grandchildren, along with friends, alumnae, parents, and colleagues from throughout her 33 years at Louisville.

Students paid tribute to Mrs. Vercillo as well, with Annie Bolger '21 giving a touching opening dedication to begin the day, and Avery Beckman '21 and Julianna Barlow '21 singing a stirring rendition of "For Good" from the musical Wicked. After a deliciou luncheon, guests moved to the Senior Lawn where student performers reprised a dance number from their Spring Concert in Mrs. Vercillo's honor.

Mrs. Vercillo was presented with thoughtful and beautiful gifts throughout the day, including a tribute book from the Parents Guild full of photos, stories, and well wishes from students, current and past parents, alumnae, current and past faculty and staff, and other members of the Louisville community.

Crespi High School principal Dr. Liam Joyce was one of several speakers throughout the day and gifted Mrs. Vercillo a truly one-of-a-kind Louisville/Crespi t-shirt. Mr. Mike Telesca and incoming principal Dr. Jennifer Aguilar spoke on behalf of the Louisville faculty and administration, respectively, and each shared stories of how deeply Mrs. Vercillo’s leadership and talents have been felt throughout her many years at Louisville.

It was a wonderful day of friendship and love as we celebrated the many blessings that Mrs. Vercillo has bestowed upon Louisville during her tenure.
