After a Year-long Offseason, Tennis and Cross Country Return to Action

Sports were shut down along with nearly all other student activities last March due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but as safety precautions have eased this spring semester, sports have returned with tennis and cross country first back officially into action.

Tennis was first out of the gate for Louisville this season, with the Royals taking on Viewpoint at Calabasas Tennis & Swim Center on Thursday, March 4. The Royals tied the Patriots, 9-9, and were led by Chloe McBride '24 and Alex Cohen '21, who each went undefeated in their singles matches. 

Next up for the Royals is a non-league match at Oak Park on March 16 at 3 pm. 

Cross country opened their 2020-21 campaign with a dual meet at Alemany a year to the day from the last Louisville track & field meet. A long time coming, but it was worth the wait. The Royals crushed the Warriors and Louisville's pack was led by Liz Cruz '21, Sofia Gavura '21, California Croll '24, and Phoebe LaFrance '23, who placed first, second, third, and fourth respectively.

Cross country will be back on course at Chaminade on March 13.
