On August 11, 2020, Louisville hosted its first-ever virtual New Student Orientation for incoming Freshman and transfer students. This fun event not only provided useful information to our incoming students but also gave them an opportunity to meet one another before the school year began.
The entire group first met in a large session with administration and teachers speaking to them about the upcoming year and providing them withan overview of what to expect as we opened with online learning. Next, our Campus Life Director, Mrs. Zamora, led the group in the history of Louisville, devotional, and prayer.
Finally, our Associated Student Body members and Ambassadors helped to lead small breakout groups. The small groups held a scavenger hunt, played games, and spent quality time getting to know the other girls in their groups.
The virtual event was held in Teams, which is the new platform the school is using this year for online classroom lectures and learning. Not only was it the perfect time to meet other new students, but the girls also had the opportunity to practice using the technology they would be using in the classroom.
New Student Orientation was a great success, but we look forward to the day when all of our new Freshman and transfers can meet in person on campus once again!
