Focus Program Launches Its First Business and Communications Cohort

Juniors and seniors in Louisville’s new Business and Communications Focus Program will develop understanding of how management, marketing, sales, communications, and finance work together for a successful business. With an emphasis on entrepreneurship, this program will offer a series of experiences highlighting successes and opportunities for women in the business world.
With job shadowing, guest speakers and field trips, students can explore a broad spectrum of fields including: event planning, social media, communications, marketing and advertising, non-profit advancement, accounting, investing, human resources, and project management. Students will participate in clubs such as Investing, Entrepreneurs and Girl Up. Through investigative study, collaboration, and critical thinking skills, students can develop design-thinking projects in Louisville's Innovation Lab. Upon completion of this two-year program, students acquire skills and techniques necessary for success in post-secondary studies and professions in Business or Communications.
