The Louisville Varsity Soccer Team had an excellent pre-season and a competitive league season. The team went undefeated at the Hart Soccer Showcase, resulting in 1st place with a 4-0 record. Senior’s Ryley Tanner (5 goals) and Lila Dubois (2 goals) led the team in scoring and were key contributors offensively. The defensive line had two shutouts led by Junior Madison McCrary and Sophomore Ellie Gordon.
The league season was sparked by a dramatic and competitive comeback against Immaculate Heart. After being down 0-2 in the second half, Louisville came out on top with an aggressive 3-2 victory. Their great play continued as the team secured a third place finish defeating Notre Dame Academy 2-1 on senior night. The seniors were acknowledged on this special day and were important contributors to the team's victory. With the final game deciding second place in league, the girls played Marlborough in a back and forth battle resulting in a (3-3) tie. The team finished third in season and will be advancing to postseason play. The team is excited, confident, and eagerly awaiting the start of postseason. The Royals will be playing at Santa Monica College against Archer School on Thursday Feb 13, in the first round of playoffs. We wish the girls the best and hope that the have a successful playoff run!
