Kaydee Inouye leads the Mission League and her team to a 3rd place finish over Harvard-Westlake

On Wednesday, October 16th, Louisville Cross Country traveled to Crescenta Valley Park to compete in the penultimate league meet of the season.
Senior Kaydee Inouye led the Varsity race wire to wire, with her nearest competitor finishing 50 seconds after Kaydee crossed the finish line. Following behind Kaydee in the varsity race, Kristen Huber, Chloe Maslansky, Lizeth Ochoa, Liz Cruz, Sofia Gavura, and Phoebe LaFrance, ran smart, moving up in the pack throughout the race and collectively picking up 17 spots from mile 1 to the finish. Their tactical effort paid off and resulted in a 3rd place finish ahead of Harvard-Westlake.

Leading the JV squad was freshman Peighton Unger, who ran a gutsy race and set a personal course record by a full minute faster. The day also featured a couple firsts for the squad- the first race at this distance and on this course for Saori Cochachin and multisport Royal Emma Nicklaw.

The team returns to Crescenta Valley Park in 3 weeks to compete in the last league meet of the season, with their eyes set on advancing to CIF Prelims.
