On Wednesday, September 25th, our running Royals traveled to Crescenta Valley Park to compete in the first league meet of the season against Marymount, Flintridge Sacred Heart, Harvard-Westlake, and Marlborough.
Varsity placed fourth, scoring close behind Harvard Westlake. The squad was led by senior Kaydee Inouye who placed 3rd, her highest place finish ever in the Mission League. Junior Liz Cruz improved her time on the tough Crescenta Valley course by almost 2 minutes from last year, and Sofia Gavura and bested her performance from League FINALS of last year. JV finished in third place, led by freshman Phoebe Lafrance who placed second. Kand Sofia bested her performance at League FINALS in 2018. JV finished in third place, led by freshman Phoebe Lafrance who placed second in the league. This was Shelby Greenes's and Nicolette's first race at the 3 mile distance. Shelby commented afterwards "That was the hardest thing I've ever done." Got to love this sport!
