I've gained access to a number of opportunities that have enriched my passions and paved the path to my career goals. I met with several psychologists to gauge whether that was the right career fit for me. Meeting with these professionals amplified my passion and gave me a clear view of the steps I need to take to reach my goals. Overall, my experiences in the Focus Program gave me a great understanding of the steps to meet my career goals and gave me a head start to get there.

I chose the Law and Social Justice Cohort because I've always been passionate about fairness, advocacy, and using my voice to help others. This pathway has helped me build on my strengths in communication, critical thinking, and research. Everything in this program has made me more confident that I belong in this field, and I am ready to keep pushing forward.

I've had many different opportunities to explore careers and learn more about what I do—as well as what I don't—want to do. The informational interviews and job shadowing gave me the opportunity to take an in-depth view of different careers and led me to find an internship with a screenwriter. The primary skill I take away is knowing how to take advantage of my opportunities.
