Mock Trial – 11-time L.A. County Champions!

Founded by the Constitutional Rights Foundation, the Mock Trial program was created to help students acquire a working knowledge of our judicial system, develop analytical abilities and communication skills, and gain an understanding of their obligations and responsibilities as participating members of our society.

Louisville High School has been sending a talented team of budding attorneys to the competition each year for over 40 years, and is one of many schools representing Los Angeles County with pride. Under the leadership and tutelage of Louisville faculty member Mr. Michael Telesca, Louisville’s Mock Trial team has won the Los Angeles County Senior Division Championship eleven times: ’79, ’80, ’92, ’94, ’98, ’00, ’04, ’07, ’09, ’13, and '20; and won a State Championship in 1993.

Robotics Team – Royal Robotrons

The creation of a robot for competition integrates science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) principles in a meaningful and fun way, and the Louisville team puts their engineering and design skills to the test at the Los Angeles Pierce College VEX Robotics Tournament. The tournament required teams to move the robots around while picking up and placing small beanbags on a scoring table. Set up much like a sporting event, amidst cheering crowds, students were allowed to navigate their robots via a program or by using a remote control.

Model United Nations – Debate and Deliberate

Model United Nations, or MUN, is an academic simulation of the United Nations that aims to educate participants in current events, topics in international relations, diplomacy, and the agenda of the United Nations. Students role-play as diplomats representing a nation in a simulated session of a committee within the UN, such as the Security Council, the Human Rights Council or a Crisis Committee. Conference participants employ a variety of communication, critical thinking, and conflict resolution skills in order to represent the policies of their country.
