The Road to Your Future

Louisville is only part of the academic journey for our students. As a college prep school, Louisville students move on to schools all over the United States. They are awarded over $5 million in scholarships each year. Generally, 100% of our graduates attend college directly after graduation, with about 85% attending four-year institutions. About 15% elect to attend a two-year college with the intent of transferring to a four-year program. Several athletes participate in National Signing Day each year for NCAA sports.

The College Admission Process

Louisville’s Guidance and College Counseling Department schedules programs with parents and students during freshman, sophomore, junior and senior years to help guide and pace the college search, testing, application and selection process. These include essay writing workshops, application and financial aid workshops, and college transition nights.

Our counselors work individually with the students beginning junior year to prepare them for the application experience. With Mrs. Britt and Mrs. Competelli working as each student’s advocate, students develop a vested interest and take responsibility for their college search and applications. Our counselors keep close track of each individual student’s school choices and her application process so that the best match is made for the next exciting road in her academic journey.

Lunchtime College Rep Visits

Representatives from colleges and universities are scheduled to visit Louisville. These sessions will take place at lunch. All students are welcome, but the sessions are particularly important for seniors and juniors as they engage in their college search and in the application process. Freshmen and sophomores may find them helpful as they begin to learn about the wonderful variety of schools available to them.

Naviance Family Connection

All Louisville students use the Naviance system to facilitate college research, applications, recommendations and scholarships. Used at most premier high schools, Naviance makes exploring, prioritizing and applying much more organized and focused. Data from years of Louisville graduates is used to help build a clear picture of how each college or university fits into their goals. Students begin using Naviance during their sophomore year.
