Cleaning and Disinfection
The school’s facility management company will be deep cleaning and disinfecting the entire campus, including every classroom, on a daily basis according to the cleaning and disinfecting guidance provided by the
CDC. Routine cleaning & disinfecting will occur periodically throughout the school day and in the evening, with special attention paid to high touch contact points using products that are EPA approved.
Drinking fountains will be closed on campus, however, touch-less water bottle filling stations will be available for students. Classrooms are cleaned and disinfected daily. Regular cleaning and disinfecting of personal electronic equipment are also recommended (
Tech Cleaning Safety Guidelines).
Ventilation
Ventilation through open doors and windows will be used in all classrooms where possible. All HVAC systems have been recently inspected and are in good, working order. HVAC systems have been programmed to increase indoor/outdoor air exchange. All of our HVAC system filters use EPA-registered antimicrobial products for use against novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, the cause of COVID-19.
Campus Entrance Procedure
Drop-Off, Check-In, and Walkways MapAll students, faculty, and staff will have to complete a daily health screening before arriving at school. Signage at the entrance to the campus and throughout the campus will remind students that they should stay home if sick, maintain social distancing of at least 3 feet, and wear a face mask at all times (except when eating or drinking) while on campus.
Upon entering the campus any students who arrive after 8:00 am should be dropped off in the main quad area, where a member of staff will check the email showing that the student is cleared to enter campus. Students who arrive before 8:00 am will have their clearance email checked by security. Any student who is not cleared to enter campus will be asked to work from home for the day. Student drivers will follow a similar procedure as they enter the campus. Email-check locations will be provided in several locations in the parking areas for this purpose. After having their clearance email checked students must head directly to class.
Campus Exit Procedure
Pick-Up Map All students should exit the campus as soon as possible at the end of the school day unless they have an extra-curricular responsibility that necessitates remaining on campus. The library will be open until 5:00 pm each day for those students who need to remain on campus. Students must wait to be picked up in the quad area at the bottom of the senior lawn or outside the library and should remain socially distanced as they wait to be picked up
.
Social Distancing
Drop-Off, Check-In, and Walkways MapSocial Distancing will be required throughout the day both inside and outside of the classroom. Within classrooms/library/student work areas, all desks are spaced 3 feet from each other and at least 3 feet from the teacher’s area. Indoor hallways will be one-way only to encourage social distancing, and there will be signage throughout the campus to direct the flow of foot-traffic. Proper social distancing for eating areas will be marked throughout the campus to guide students to remain 3 feet apart at breaks and lunch. To allow for social distancing in bathrooms, the number of students in the bathroom will be limited to the number of sinks in the bathroom.
Personal Protective Equipment
All students, faculty, and staff will be required to wear a face mask throughout the school day. The face mask must be worn to fully cover the nose and mouth (wear your mask like
Louis the Lion). Face masks with a one-way valve are not allowed. Students, faculty, and staff have the option to wear a face shield in addition to a face mask, however, face shields will not be a replacement for face masks. The school will provide a cloth face mask for every student and every employee. Read more about the necessity of masks f
rom the Los Angeles Department of Public Health. The school has adequate supplies of all necessary protective equipment including:
- gloves,
- face masks,
- face shields,
- hand sanitizer,
- hand soap,
- cleaning/disinfecting supplies, and

Positive Cases of COVID-19
Any student, faculty, or staff who shows
symptoms of COVID-19 during the school day will be immediately quarantined and sent home for the day. Close contacts of symptomatic individuals will be notified. If any student, faculty, or staff test positive for COVID-19, they may be asked to quarantine at home. Notification will be sent home to all families in the event of a positive case of COVID-19 (although the identity of the individual who tested positive will be kept confidential).
