After several years as one of the area’s top girls’ volleyball assistants, Sabine Stork is leaving Harvard-Westlake of Studio City to return to the head coaching ranks. But Wolverines coach Adam Black won’t have to look far to find Stork on an opposing bench in the fall.
Stork was recently named the new coach at Louisville of Woodland Hills. “I am very excited to have Sabine accept the position,” Louisville athletic director Marilyn Hyman said. “She will bring a wealth of knowledge, experience and excitement to the program.”
Stork, who helped guide Harvard-Westlake to Southern Section Div. I-A and Div. III state titles this past season, captured San Diego Section titles as a head coach at Francis Parker in the late 1980s. In addition to working at Harvard-Westlake under Black and Jess Quiroz Stork – who led Cal State Northridge to the 1983 title – also added to her resume as an accomplished club coach, most recently with Santa Monica Beach Club.
“The potential for the program is tremendous, with hard work and commitment the sky is the limit,” said Stork, whose husband Jeff is the head women’s volleyball coach at CSUN. “It is exciting to be a part of such a wonderful school and fantastic athletic program.”
