Louisville High School Wins its 8th

Los Angeles County Senior

Mock Trial Championship!

Woodland Hills (November 29, 2007) — Louisville High School’s Mock Trial team won its eighth Los Angeles County Mock Trial Senior Division Championship. It’s the second time in four years the Woodland Hills all-girls team has won the title and moved on to California State competition held in March.

Meeting Gabrielino High School in the final round presented an exciting re-match for Louisville, having previously faced this team for the County Championship in 2004. After their opening statement set the stage, the Louisville prosecution team felt very positive during the competition because they knew that they had lived up to their potential. “Our attorneys made good objections to keep the other team’s evidence out,” said Mr. Telesca.

Their poised and articulate presentation gave them an edge as well. Louisville’s President Sr. Myra McPartland observes, “Being present in that court room and seeing our young women demonstrate their knowledge of the law gave me great hope for the future of our Justice System.”
