Welcome to our Jubilee Class of 2014!

Jubilee Class Launches 1-to-1 program!

The incoming Jubilee class of 2014 is the first class to receive a laptop with software tools for use both in the classroom and at home. The 1-to-1 Laptop Program at Louisville addresses the growing demand for girls’ technology skills, organized access to schoolwork and resources, and creative/collaborative skills that develop critical thinking. The program builds upon the advantages Louisville offers as a single-sex environment and the benefits technology provides for girls as highlighted recently by the Higher Education Research Institute at UCLA.  A link to this study can be found here on our web site. UCLA study Finds stronger academic orientations in Grads of all-girls schools than coed grads

"The culture, climate and community of girls' schools as a transforming force speaks loud and clear in the results of this study and confirms it's 'cool to be smart,'" said Moulton in a UCLA press release. She noted that there's a "culture of achievement" at an all-girls' school in which "the discovery and development" of a girl's individual potential is paramount.

Ensemble Royale Is Featured In Showcase of Choirs

at Walt Disney Concert Hall:

20th Annual High School Choir Festival

Louisville High School’s Ensemble Royale, conducted by Ms. Maura Piazza, was featured as a solo choir at the Walt Disney Concert Hall during the 20th Annual High School Choir Festival, sponsored by the Los Angeles Master Chorale. Of the 25 choirs participating in the event, four were selected to perform a selection of music on center stage and receive feedback from professionals. They then performed six prepared choral pieces together with all thirty participating choirs, providing our all-girl choir a unique opportunity to sing in combined male/female vocal arrangements. Bravo, Ensemble Royale!

KIVA - Louisville students loan to third world entrepreneurs
The Louisville High School Social Justice classes of 2007 began a Kiva fund which has loaned and reloaned over $6000 to persons/aspiring entrepreneurs throughout the developing world. A great suggestion from our Dean of Students Ms. Thinnes about giving and how to change the world caught a real spark of enthusiasm with the class of 2008. It continues with the classes of 2009, 2010, and hopefully beyond.
