Ensemble Royale Strikes Gold at San Francisco Choral Heritage Festival

Woodland Hills, CA (March 29, 2008) – Louisville High School’s Ensemble Royale choir brought home a “Gold” ranking from San Francisco’s Choral Heritage Festival. The choir performed a Christmas piece by John Rutter, “Salvation is Created” and “Old Joe Clark” with fiddle solos by Samantha Moraes. Adjudicators rated Ensemble Royale as Superior, scoring the choir in the 90-100 range, or Gold level. Samantha Moraes was also awarded the Maestro Award for her fiddle performance.

The choir also received expert feedback from a university choral instructor, which will help in preparation for their solo performance at the Los Angeles Master Chorale’s High School Music Festival on April 18th, 2008 at the Walt Disney Concert Hall.
