Royals equestrian team finishes 2nd in final Interscholastic Equestrian League show among 50 participating teams

On April 13th, the Royals Equestrian team competed in the final IEL Horse Show of the season, finishing 2nd out of 50 schools! The Royals had their usual strong showing, this time with only four riders taking place in the competition. Highlighting the day was senior Jaclyn Parks who dominated the competition in Varsity Dressage, earning Hi-Point honors and being named Rider Champion. Another top performance was turned in by freshman Katie Barber, who competed in the Novice division, which had over 30 competitors. Katie “placed” in all events except one. Senior Chloe Willems received a 2nd place ribbon in the Varsity Jumpers competition. Freshman Sara Ryan competed in the Varsity division and earned a 10th out of 20 in her Flat Class and received a 7th in the IEL Varsity Medal Final. Unfortunately, Sophomore Jenna Parezo was unable to compete as her horse was still recovering from a recent injury. All in all, this was another outstanding performance by the equestrian team. Great job, Royals Equestrian, and good luck next season!
