Mission League continued on October 4th with a tri-meet vs. Notre Dame and Flintridge Sacred Heart. In one of the most incredible finishes in recent league history, Louisville’s Jennifer Gonsoski ran down returning league champion and the race favorite from Flintridge Sacred Heart in the last 100 yards for the win at the tape. With a mile remaining, Jennifer came from 8th place to 2nd place. As the race made its final turn to the finish, Gonsoski (18.56) made up the final 10 yards with an incredible burst of speed as she stormed past the Tologs’ runner, neck and neck at the finish line. Shouts of “Jennifer got it!!” rang through the crowd. The next five finishers for LvHS were (2) J. Topete (19.51), (3) M. Youssef (19.52), (4) K. Vaughn (20.12), (5) S. Graveline  (20.16) and  (6) M. Killmond  (20.39). Despite the strong performances, the Royals lost in total points to both teams.

In the final Mission League tri-meet of the season, the Royals swept both Harvard-Westlake and Alemany high schools on October 11th.  Jennifer Gonsoski continued her fast rise to the top of the Mission League by once again winning the tri-meet with a time of_20:33. The top finishers for Louisville were (2) K. Vaughn (21:07), (3) M. Youssef (21:34), (4) J. Topete (21:43) and (5) S. Graveline (22:00).
