The Varsity Basketball team got the 2007-2008 season under way in style, defeating Bell High School in the first round of the Pacific Palisades Tournament by a score of 47-42. Under the direction of first year Coach Robert DaCorsi, the Royals jumped ahead early and never trailed. Leading the way for the Royals was sophomore Britney Daniels, who had a team high 17 points, including 4 of 7 on three-point attempts. Sophomore Danielle Nicholson scored 13 points and senior captain Amanda Arnold added 10 points. Congratulations Varsity Basketball.
JV Basketball Wins Exciting Season Opener Over LAB
Late in the fourth quarter of their season opening game versus LA Baptist, the Royals trailed the Knights 20-21. With 43 seconds remaining, freshman Geraldine Soria sank an 18-foot jumper from the wing to give the Royals a 22-21 lead they would not relinquish! The Royals were behind at half-time and trailed in the third quarter. The Royals tied the game on two three-pointers by freshman Rebecca Farrand, then used tough defense to bring home the victory!!
