College Counseling

Louisville employs a full-time college counselor who works closely with the students beginning the second semester of junior year to prepare them for the application process.

All students have the opportunity to attend a College Workshop during which they receive directions regarding the completion of their profiles and resumes, how and when to apply, how to obtain teacher recommendations, financial aid, etc. They may also attend application workshops to complete the UC and CSU applications and an essay-writing workshop. Louisville also holds an annual College Night with Crespi Carmelite High School, a Financial Aid Night and participates in the annual San Fernando Valley College Case Studies program. Additionally, college topics are discussed at grade-level parent meetings beginning in the sophomore year.

The college counselor is available for conferences or questions and can be reached at the following extension:

Mrs. Gail Devine, College Counselor

Representatives from colleges and universities are scheduled to visit Louisville. These sessions will take place at lunch in either the conference room or Mrs. Devine’s office. All students are welcome, but the sessions are particularly important for seniors and juniors as they engage in their college search and in the application process. Freshmen and sophomores may find them helpful as they begin to learn about the wonderful variety of schools available to them.

The LIST OF VISITING COLLEGES and universities is constantly changing and growing, so students should listen carefully to the daily announcements for updates and any location changes.
