MR. WILSON'S WORLD RELIGIONS PAGE

Welcome to your last year at Louisville High School!! We will miss you when you are gone, but for now I hope that you are excited about another year of friends, fellowship and most importantly, learning. This religion class comes at a pivotal time in our world. Learning about the religions of the world has never been more important. And this semester, you will not only learn about the religions of the world, you will also learn about people, geography, music, architecture and culture from this diverse setting we call earth.

Rules

  • Always be on time for class.
  • Try not to miss class and tell me in advance if you know that you will miss class.
  • No eating, drinking or sleeping in class. (If you fall asleep you will not be woken up in a kind fashion).
  • Show respect for everyone in the class.
  • Half off for late work.
  • Make up tests will not be allowed unless you miss for a school related function or are ill.
  • Cheating is not allowed and I will catch you.
  • All school rules apply (check your handbook).
  • You are seniors and are suppose to be mature. Act accordingly!!!

Grading

Participation. Your daily participation in class will be marked down as well as your daily attendance. Any behavior problems or violation of rules will reflect very negatively on your participation grade. (2 quarters @ 100 points each) - 200

Homework/Note cards. Every time we have a reading assignment you will be required to turn in a (3x5) note card. On that note card you will include two things that you learned from the reading and one question that you have in relation to the reading or something we went over in class. There will also be various homework assignments throughout the semester. (20 @ 10 points each) - 200

Tests. The tests will be on information that we learned during lectures as well as readings. (8 @ 50 points each) – 400

Project. You will do one major project for the semester. Your project will focus on one of the major world religions, and you will present your project to the class in an effort to help in the education of your fellow classmates. You will receive a handout about different options for this project, and the teacher must approve whatever you choose. - 100 points

Final Exam. You will receive a study guide for the final exam at least one week prior to the exam. 100
